DASS (Data Analysis & Statistical Solutions) respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to statisticalsolutions.org, to askstats.net (AskStats, a free statistics-question service that DASS operates), and to our online advertising on LinkedIn and Google. Information we collect

We collect information in a few different ways, depending on how you interact with us:

• Contact, consultation, and question forms. When you submit the contact form or the consultation request form on this site, or the question form on AskStats, the details you enter (such as your name, email, organization, and project details) are sent to us by email through our email provider, Resend, and your email address (and name, if you gave one) is saved to our client-inquiry contact list in Resend so we can follow up. We also send you a confirmation email. We don't add you to any marketing list.
• DASS Network interest form. If you express interest in collaborating with DASS, what you submit (such as your name, email, expertise, and profile link) is emailed to us through Resend so we can review it and follow up. It isn't added to any mailing list.
• Blog email subscription. If you sign up for new-post notifications, your email address is stored by our email service provider, Resend, and used only to send those notifications. We use double opt-in: you must click a confirmation link before you're added to our list.
• LinkedIn advertising. We run ads on LinkedIn and use the LinkedIn Insight Tag on this site, which helps us understand traffic from those ads and build audiences for future campaigns. This may involve LinkedIn setting cookies or using similar technologies in your browser — see LinkedIn's privacy policy for details on how they handle this. If you submit one of our LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms, LinkedIn shares the information you provide (such as your name, email, and any answers to our questions) directly with us so we can follow up.
• Site analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics (on this site) and Cloudflare Web Analytics (on this site and AskStats) to understand aggregate traffic: which pages get visited, where visitors come from, and roughly how much traffic we get. Neither uses cookies or builds a profile of you.
• Where inquiries come from. To learn which pages and searches lead people to contact us, this site and AskStats keep a short note in your browser for the current tab only (session storage, not a cookie; it is deleted when you close the tab): the first page you visited and the website that sent you there, plus any campaign tags in the link. It is sent to us only if you submit a contact, consultation, or question form, where it appears in the email we receive, or added to a Calendly booking link you click, where Calendly records it with your booking. It is not used to track you across sites.
• Google Ads. Our homepage uses the Google Ads tag to measure whether our Google ads lead to consultation requests and bookings, and to build advertising audiences from site visitors. Google may set cookies or use similar technologies to do this; see how Google uses information in advertising.

How we use this information

We use the information above to respond to inquiries, send the blog updates you've asked for, understand how people find and use our site, and measure whether our advertising is reaching the right people. We do not sell your information to third parties.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of outside services to run this site and our practice: Resend (email delivery and subscriber management), LinkedIn (advertising and lead forms), Zoho Mail (business email), and Google Ads (advertising measurement), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and Cloudflare (analytics). Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on our behalf.

Cookies & advertising

This site uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag and the Google Ads tag to measure ad performance and build advertising audiences; LinkedIn and Google may set cookies to do this. Our traffic analytics (Vercel and Cloudflare) do not use cookies. You can limit advertising cookies through your browser's settings, LinkedIn's ad preferences, or Google's My Ad Center; doing so won't affect your ability to use the site or contact us.

Do not submit sensitive or identifiable data

Please do not send sensitive or identifiable participant, patient, student, or other protected data (e.g., PHI, PII, or data covered by FERPA, HIPAA, or an IRB protocol) through the site's forms, email, or any other channel on this site. These channels are not a secure transfer method. Once we've scoped an engagement, we set up an appropriate secure file-transfer arrangement before any project data changes hands.

Confidentiality of project information

Details you share with us about your research, data, or organization in the course of an engagement are treated as confidential and are used only to scope and deliver that engagement. We're glad to sign a mutual NDA before a detailed technical discussion if your organization requires one.

Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by everyone. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. If you encounter an accessibility barrier anywhere on this site, email us at the address below and we'll work with you to address it.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link included in every message we send. You can also ask us to delete any information we hold about you by emailing us at the address below — we'll take care of it promptly.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for business professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally as our practice or the tools we use change. The version posted here is always the current one.
